ICAR-KVK West Siang Organized Three Days Training Programme
ICAR-KVK West Siang organized three days training programme for the farmers of Upper Siang, Lower Siang, West Siang and Siang District from 25-27th June, 2018 to update with the latest technological advancements in field of agriculture. The course contents of the 3 days training programme were designed to cover theoretical and particles on a wide range of basic and applied topics related to Crop Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Soil Science, Plant Protection and Home Science. A total of 51 farmers participated in the training programme.
Dr. H. Kalita, Convener and Joint Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region Arunachal Pradesh Centre, highlighted the role of ICAR technology for doubling farmers income. He advised that by implementing the ICAR technology, farmers may increase their production, productivity and income.
Dr. C. S. Raghav, Convener and Senior Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK West Siang, advised the farmers to adopt the integrated farming system including improve production technology of crops for higher production and income.
Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh, Course Director and SMS-Plant Protection of three days training programme coordinated the programme. He delivered a lecture on the cultivation of oyster mushroom production for income generation and livelihood improvement. During the training programme farmers visited the various units in the ICAR Farm i.e., Mushroom production unit, Vermicompost unit, Poultry unit, Piggery, Agro-forestry block and Horticulture block and practically demonstrated soil sampling method, vermicompost production and oyster mushroom cultivation.
The programme was successfully ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh.
